Bridal Style

So you want to wear something "bridaly" as you get ready before your wedding but the typical BRIDE tank tops aren't you. Enter this cozy, cool, Flashdance type sweatshirt. And don't worry if you don't want to wear anything that says "Bride" you can get another saying like "Love" or just a good ole heart.

PS- you can also have names put on the sweatshirt if you wanted to get the bridesmaids involved!

Good Eye

A few weeks ago me, my husband and our 4 month old baby, Charlie, went to San Diego (actually Coronado Island) for a mini vacation/husband's work trip. Since my husband was in work meetings most of the day, Charlie and I went for a lot of walks and on our walks we encountered so many adorable houses! I decided to start photographing these houses so I could remember them for when I built my own adorable house one day:) I especially loved the house below with its tree swing, charming white trim and beautiful landscaping. Well, this past week as I was catching up on my wedding blogs I saw the exact same house used for a real California wedding on Style Me Pretty! What are the odds that I would love this house and then find it on a wedding blog the next week?! Karin and I thought it was just too random not to share and perhaps I have a sixth sense for cute wedding houses:)

my personal photograph of the amazing house, don't you love the tree swing?!

New Sample!

Our new samples have been trickling in the past few weeks and below is one of our favorites- Caroline DeVillo's "Rita!" We love the keyhole back, ballgown skirt and ribbon sash! However, if ballgowns aren't your cup of tea don't fret, like most of Caroline's gowns you can choose your skirt shape. So if you want you can swap out the ballgown for a more fluted version- which would also look amazing! And don't worry if you have a hard time envisioning how the dress would look with a slimmer skirt, we of course can simulate it during your appointment.

Wedding Momento Storage

As I was planning my wedding, I kept a "wedding box" that housed things from my wedding that I wanted to keep. Things like response cards (because my guests wrote cute little messages on them), extra programs, menus, place cards, my budget Excel spreadsheet- just things I would like to look back on one day or things I think would be interesting for my children to see one day. Well my "wedding box" is a rather ugly cardboard box and I would much rather have used something pretty and bridal looking like these nesting storage boxes. And I love that when stacked they look like a wedding cake.

On-Location Hair and Makeup

The wedding morning can have the tendency to get a bit hectic. One way to help keep things running smoothly is to hire a hair and makeup artist that will come to your house (or wherever you are getting ready) so that you don't have to take the time to travel to and from a salon. We recently had the pleasure to meet one such individual (and try out her makeup services first-hand: Z Beauty.

Laura, the hair and makeup artist behind Z Beauty stopped by Something White to show us what she is all about. Lucky for me this meant I didn't have to do my makeup before I went to the shop!

What I failed to consider is that my "before" picture would also be makeup free. Yikes!
Luckily Laura got right to work. We decided to go for that "I'm not even wearing any makeup" natural look. She uses a very cool all-natural line of makeup called glo minerals.

Tada! Much better!  For more information about Z Beauty's services for the bride and bridal party (or any other special occasion) check out their website: www.zbeautycleveland.com
