Something Old: Purse

According to The Knot the tradition of carrying something old comes from an old English rhyme: “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Sixpence in your Shoe.” Specifically, carrying something old represents a bridge between the past and the future. Here is a “something old” idea:


Purse: When my sister got married she carried a beautiful beaded purse that belonged to her best friend's grandmother. It was beautiful and truly exemplified the phrase “they don’t make them like they used to”
