Pantone 2011 Color of the Year

I may be a bit late on this but Pantone recently announced their 2011 Color of the Year and it is....drum roll please.....Honeysuckle Pantone 18-2120! What do you think? We have been seeing many brides choose a lighter version of Honeysuckle for bridesmaid dresses and other wedding accents and pairing it with pale grey, pale blue and pale yellow. A nice vintage palette if you ask me. Now I know we have touched on the greatness of Pantone colors in the past but just in case you missed it here is a recap:

Q: What is a Pantone color?
A: Pantone is a color matching system that standardizes color reproduction in paint, fabric and printing.

Q: Why are Pantone colors a good idea?
A: Pantone colors are great when you are trying to have a consistent color throughout. Let’s say for example, you want your bridesmaid dresses and your invitations to have the same color yellow. If you know the Pantone color of your bridesmaid dress you can give that Pantone color number to your invitation printer and it will be exactly the same. Genius!

Q: What designers use Pantone colors?
A: Both Dessy and Alfred Sung provide Pantone colors for all their bridesmaid dress colors.
