According to The Knot the tradition of something borrowed comes from an old English rhyme: “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Sixpence in your Shoe.” Specifically, carrying something borrowed represents borrowing the happiness of others as you start your married life together. Here is a “something borrowed” idea:


Jewelry: Borrowing jewelry can not only fulfill your “something borrowed” quota, but it is also a great way to save some cash! Chances are other friends and family members bought new jewelry for their wedding day and then did not find too many occasions to wear it after the wedding. Go through your pictures from past weddings and when you find something you think would suit you, call in a favor!
