Something Old: Vintage Car

According to The Knot the tradition of carrying something old comes from an old English rhyme: “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Sixpence in your Shoe.” Specifically, carrying something old represents a bridge between the past and the future. Here is a “something old” idea:

Vintage Car: My grandfather collected vintage cars and many a person in my family has utilized these vehicles as their getaway car on their wedding day. Not only did this add a unique touch over a limo or party bus and give the newly married couple some alone-time as they journey to picture taking or reception locations, but model-T or other old car used was often one whose previous owner was a family ancestor.
