Historic Cleveland Wedding Venues: The Silver Grille

When looking for a venue for our wedding Chad and I were both intrigued by historic Cleveland locations and before settling on The Union Club we toured quite a few other spots with that vintage glam and interesting history. One of our favorites was The Silver Grille.

Back in Cleveland's heyday a trip downtown meant shopping at Higbees follow by lunch at The Silver Grille. My Grandma fondly recalls birthday celebrations with lunch at The Silver Grille. Sadly The Silver Grille closed to the public in 1989.

In 2002 The Silver Grille was restored to its original 1931 art-deco splendor. Many of the fixtures and furniture are the originals and other items such as the carpeting have been reproduced to mirror the original. While no longer open to the public for dining The Silver Grille is available for weddings and other functions through the Ritz Carlton.
