Holiday Sparkle Styled Shoot

We recently took part in a sparkly holiday themed styled shoot, and luckily Elizabeth Anne Designs snatched it up and posted it pronto so that we didn't have to wait to see the final product. A sampling of the shoot is below but you can see the full post here.

New Cleveland Venue

There are a couple new Cleveland wedding venues that recently opened and I am so excited about them! The first venue I learned about from a bride that was recently in our shop, it's Ariel International Center and it just opened at the end of July. It's located on East 40th and has a very upscale warehouse feel with exposed brick and wooden ceilings and it has a great view of downtown Cleveland. And one of the best parts, it can hold up to 400 people! I feel venues that hold large weddings are hard to come by. Below are some photos from Ariel's website. What do you think?!

Cleveland Love

As I was perusing my daily wedding blogs yesterday I got super excited when I stumbled upon a Cleveland wedding on Style Me Pretty! Now if you're like me you notice that California, New York, Chicago and many other large cities tend to get a lot of blog love but smaller cities like Cleveland tend to get lost. So you can imagine my excited when I saw this post! The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was that the wedding photographer is not Cleveland based. There are a lot of great Cleveland wedding photographers and it would have been great to see some local love as well. What about you are you trying to use only local vendors for your wedding?

the ceremony and reception took place at Luxe in Gordon Square

love the cardigan idea

Historic Cleveland Wedding Venues: The Arcade

If you are searching for a historic Cleveland venue for your wedding reception and/or ceremony few have more "wow factor" than The Arcade. It was originally built in 1890 as one of the countries first indoor shopping centers. Known as Cleveland's Crystal Palace it continued to house a variety of reatial shops for over 100 years and was the first building in Cleveland to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 2001 a renovation was completed and the Hyatt Regancy took occupancy of  the top three levels of the atrium with retail remaining on the lower level. It is this same lower level that offers such a resplendent backdrop for Cleveland weddings as demonstrated in the pictures below. Enjoy!

Historic Cleveland Wedding Venues: The Silver Grille

When looking for a venue for our wedding Chad and I were both intrigued by historic Cleveland locations and before settling on The Union Club we toured quite a few other spots with that vintage glam and interesting history. One of our favorites was The Silver Grille.

Back in Cleveland's heyday a trip downtown meant shopping at Higbees follow by lunch at The Silver Grille. My Grandma fondly recalls birthday celebrations with lunch at The Silver Grille. Sadly The Silver Grille closed to the public in 1989.

In 2002 The Silver Grille was restored to its original 1931 art-deco splendor. Many of the fixtures and furniture are the originals and other items such as the carpeting have been reproduced to mirror the original. While no longer open to the public for dining The Silver Grille is available for weddings and other functions through the Ritz Carlton.

Puttin on the Ritz, Carlton that is....

For those of you who think that having your reception at the Ritz-Carlton is likelytoo swanky for your wedding budget, think again!  They recently developed some new all-inclusive wedding packages that are more affordable than you think, and a few days ago Rebecca and I had the pleasure of sampling the new menus:

Salmon Mousse Stuffed Lemon Sole

Braised Beef Short Rib with Basil Rissoto

Seared Breast of Chicken

White Cake with Chocolate Ganache
Not only did the food have us drooling, but so did the wedding packages themselves! In the grand tradition of the Ritz-Carlton they pretty much take care of everything by wrapping it all into one package: open bar, hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast, three+ course dinner, wedding cake OR a cake enhancement a la chocolate dipped strawberry, valet parking, and bridal suite (which I got to take a peek at and it is almost worth choosing the Ritz for your reception becuase of that alone!).

At the end of the luncheon they sent us home with a bottle of champagne to boot. Oh Ritz-Carlton, you think of everything (and they really do!).
