More Steven Birnbaum

If last weeks post about the latest from The Steven Birnbaum Collection left you wanting more check out this video of the fashion show. Sadly Rebecca and I were sitting just off camera on the right or you would have also been able to spot our excited faces!

New Collection from Steven Birnbaum

Our first stop at New York Bridal Market (where we see our designers' new collections and choose gowns for Something White) was the Birnbaum & Bullock fashion show to check the latest from The Steven Birnbaum Collection. Unfortunately I got off to a bit of a rocky start since I thought the show started at 11:30 rather than 11 and then got dropped off at the wrong address by my cab driver. I arrived sweaty and breathless along with some other late-comers including Martha Stewart's Darcy Miller (Rebecca was desperately trying to send me "play it cool" signals in the elevator as I recounted my crazy morning). Fortunately the show hadn't started (something tells me the held the show for Darcy rather than us SW gals...)

 

Worth all of the effort it took to get there - we were blown away by the new collection:

When we went to our appointment to take a closer look I thought it would be helpful to see the dresses on a person - luckily I talked Rebecca into playing dress-up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The other buyers thought so too because before we knew it Rebecca had a crowd and was even asked to try on some gowns from one of the collections we don't carry  - what a good sport!

You Wanted It, We Got It: Gretchen, by Amy Kuschel

Those of you who follow us on Facebook my recall our poll last April asking you to help us choose our final new sample from Amy Kuschel. Gretchen was the clear winner, and at long last she has arrived at Something White (that's right ladies, you aren't the only ones that have to wait six months for your gown to arrive!)

Well, I think our followers must have been onto something because she is GORGEOUS!  

Here are the details from Amy Kuschel:

Gretchen is designed and crafted in San Francisco with particular attention to silhouette.  Our figure flattering classic trumpet shape highlights the perfection of the female form from every angle. Fabricated using gorgeous French Guipure lace mixed with Italian silk mikado, Gretchen is a richly textured  architectural statement. Our vintage inspired “Ferris Wheel” Guipure lace adorns the strapless bodice with layered grosgrain ribbon trimmings, silk cloth covered buttons,  and French Guipure floral appliques cleverly placed to showcase your waistline and to highlight the vintage inspired train attachment.

New Gown: Veronica

Although we are not necessarily big on bling at Something White we always love a little "sparkle done right" (as we put it). When we saw the Veronica gown from Caroline DeVillo's latest collection we knew it would be a perfect fit for brides looking for that hint of something that glimmers.

The Swarovski crystal design on this gown perfectly complements the subtle sheen of the gorgeous silk mikado fabric and the A-line silhouette will have just about every bride looking her best.

Caroline DeVillo "Abigail"

We love when we check out our favorite wedding blogs and a bride is wearing one of our fabulous dresses! This happened today as I was reading Snippet & Ink and noticed our Caroline DeVillo "Abigail" dress- isn't it gorgeous! We love the covered buttons all the way down the back and how the bride embellished the sash to make it her own. So clean and classic!
