The Knot Party

A few weeks ago we were invited to a cocktail party hosted by The Knot at Doubletree Tudor Arms Hotel downtown. We've posted about Tudor Arms before (we had a photo shoot there with Shi Shi Events) and we absolutely love it with it's grand ballroom and beautiful fire places! It's truly a unique space- not a typical hotel ballroom at all! So there was no question we were going to attend, and since Kirkbrides was in charge of the event details we knew it was going to be amazing, and it sure did deliver! Below are some pics- enjoy!

Where your cocktail hour or wedding could be at Doubletree Tudor Arms! Love the 2nd floor balcony
Beautiful flower arrangements from Blooms by Plantscaping
Lighting by Rock the House
Ceremony location?!
AMAZING sweets by Luna Bakery
Wonderful way to end the evening!

A Must for International Honeymoon

I recently found these while flipping through a magazine and instantly thought they would come in handy for a honeymoon! If you're planning on going abroad on your honeymoon you may need multiple outlet adapters to keep your hair looking oh so sexy/beautiful for your new husband:) I know when I traveled Europe for my honeymoon I had to bring two different adapters. Well how cool, small, and super useful is this Universal Travel Adapter?! The website states,

"With this portable and fun-inducing travel adapter, you won't ever have to worry about not being able to plug your device into a wall socket (unless you’re hiking in the Himalayas, in which case you won’t have a socket to worry about). It works in over 150 countries, continents and international cities, including USA, Australia, China, Europe, India, UK and Hong Kong."

and at $20 with fun colors why you wouldn't buy it!

Honeymoon Must-Have

One of the most ingenious gifts Chad and I have received to-date came from a couple who had recently returned from their honeymoon. It was a Gorillapod. At first I was confused, but the note quickly cleared up what the gift was and how it would come in handy.

While on your honeymoon you will likely want to take quite a few pictures of you and your spouse. But instead of having to track down an obliging picture-taker or balance your camera on a precarious rock you can simply wrap the spindly legs of the Gorillapod around a nearby object and snap away. Brilliant!

Wedding Update Wednesday: Honeymoon Woes!

I have decided that of all aspects of wedding planning the one that I really can't handle is the honeymoon. There are just too many options - the world is literally your oyster. I thought that narrowing our search down to the Caribbean would help but even then there are just so many options!!!  Fortunately I found a few handy dandy tools to help:

1.) The honeymoon section in the back of The Knot magazine.
The nice organized chart detailing the most pertinent information made the task seem less intimidating.

2.) Cheapcaribbean.com Their Hotel Finder was really helpful because for those of us who don't know what island they want to go to you are able to narrow the search by other factors such as "on the beach" and "honeymoon friendly" to narrow the possibilities.

3.) Chad. Thank goodness for fiances! After I found myself unable to pull the trigger on anything despite tons of research I decided it was time for reinforcements - or in this case just replacements, as he is now entirely in charge of planning the honeymoon. Phew! Although I am sure he would appreciate any advice that our lovely blog readers have to share. Please comment :)
