Something Borrowed: Wedding Song


According to The Knot the tradition of something borrowed comes from an old English rhyme: “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Sixpence in your Shoe.” Specifically, carrying something borrowed represents borrowing the happiness of others as you start your married life together. Here is a “something borrowed” idea:

Wedding Song: If you don’t have a special song and have yet to select the one that you will use for your first dance as husband and wife, ask those close to you for a loan. Dancing to the same song as your parents or grandparents can also serve as a thoughtful tribute.
