Wedding Update Wednesday: Food Tasting

This past Monday Chad and I, plus our parents, got to partake of one of the most exciting elements of planning a wedding - the food tasting. Before going we had selected 4 appetizers, 2 salads and 5 entrees to try out, but I could not have been prepared for the pure deliciousness that awaited us!

The tasting crew, plus our wonderful host Scott
The tasting gave us a chance not only to try the food but also gave us a chance to get to know the Union club staff a bit better too. We had a blast and can't wait to see them again on our wedding day!

Along with food we got to try and select the wine that will be served at the bar and poured during the dinner

Our choice of entrees. Sorry I was so busy eating during the apps and salad that I didn't remember to take any pictures!
A few things we learned that night to keep in mind at your own tasting:
- Scott took pictures of all of the entrees so if there was something we particularly liked (ie: the veggies wrapped in carrot ribbons) the chef can more easily duplicate a few months from now
- Feel free to mix and match. We ended up choosing the fish from one entree with the starch from another
- Ask about policies regarding having guests pre-select their entree and how they deal with special dietary needs
- Scott didn't make the food and Linda the Sommelier didn't make the wine - the staff helping you will not get hurt feelings so give honest feedback - you don't want to show up for your wedding dinner to eat something that you felt was bland at the tasting. This is the time to make suggestions and adjustments.
