Wedding Update Wednesday: DIY Card Box

I have been getting crafty over the last few days and found particular satisfaction in making this card box for the reception. It was great because it was a quick project so I had something to show for my work fairly quickly.

Making it was pretty simple - I started with a large wooden box (you can probably find something at the craft store although mine was leftover from a Christmas gift....) and cut a whole in the top for the slot. Then I cut fabric to cover the lid with a slit in the middle. Next I cut a long panel that I could wrap around the box with some extra to cover the bottom.  A few minutes of staple-gunning later and voila!
