Shower Decor Inspiration

The below pictures are from the fabulous baby shower my sister threw for me, but I think the ideas can also be used for a wedding shower or the wedding itself. Hope they provide some inspiration!

Delightful desserts! These macaroons were adorable and delicious! They were from Luna Bakery/Flour Girl in Cleveland Heights.

Pre-mixed drinks in mason jars were not only adorable but allowed the hostess to mingle instead of fetching drinks.

I LOVED these paper chandeliers. Simply cut a bunch of circles from decorative paper and pin to large foam balls.

DIY Bridal Shower Decor

I came across this simple idea on one of the blogs I regularly follow and I thought it was an easy and inexpensive way to dress up a bridal shower. And it's a great alternative to a banner. Now if rainbows aren't your cup of tea you can always use the wedding colors or even just various shades of white/cream. The key to making it look lux and not cheap is how you hang it. Be sure to hang it with long "swoops" and not in an arch like pattern that can look dated. Happy decorating!

Bridal Shower Theme - The Sound of Music

I am half Austrian so I grew up watching The Sound of Music and feeling a certain connectedness to Maria and her harmonious brood. So, obviously when I stumbled across this SOM themed bridal shower, thrown by the gang at brides.com I had shout it from the rooftops (or sing it from the hills as the case may be!). Check it out:

Gifts/packages were wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string

crisp apple strudel - yum!

More food, including jam & bread, and lonely goatherd cheese

A true Austrian delight - Almdudler soda

What better party game than guessing a few of the bride's favorite things!
I love this whole move-themed shower idea. Any other movies that would be a good fit???
